v Postmenopausal gain in weight or obesity highly increases the risk of BC

v A large amount of abdominal  fat increases the risk of BC

v Obese women tend to have more abnormal mammography readings than non-obese women

v Inactivity causes about 10 – 16% of BC cases

v Inactivity coupled with excess body weight account for nearly 33% of BC cases

v If BMI is greater than 25 then the risk of BC increases drastically

v Normally BMI should  lie within the range of           18.5 – 24.9
